Moore and Nox Mock DraftPick 1: Houston Texans Larry Moore: Marvin Herman - QB Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. His understanding of the game is way above what you would expect of a kid this young. If a pass goes incomplete, more often that not, it is the receiver who did not catch it. His great arm strength allows him to control the ball trajectory perfectly. High, long and soft? No problem! Low and hard like a bullet? Also no problem! Some might say this is a 'need' pick, but we must remember, this is a really good player as well. He will contribute early and often. No losers here.
Jim Nox: Matthew Muse - LB This kid is not afraid to work hard. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. This is a kid who really contributes to the team spirit and the social cohesiveness on the team. Coaches like how well he tackles. Sufficiently strong that bull rushing opponents is not off the table. Gives him more options on the field. While not elite, his speed is good enough to deliver pressure and keep contain. They need players at the position, and good ones at that. He fits the bill, he is worth the pick. End of story.
Pick 2: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Larry Moore: Johnathon Stern - C Raised to know the value of hard work. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Known for helping out teammates, if they hit a rough patch, whether it is on the field or in their personal lives. In the run game he blocks well, shows tenacity and opens lanes. This will benefit the team. Good pass blockers are hard to find right out of college, and this guy is pretty good. A really smart kid. The stars align for them to get him here. Just what they need. Blue-chip player with great upside. Hard to botch this pick.
Jim Nox: Johnathon Stern - C This kid puts in the work. He is driven by the love of the sport. He takes care of his teammates. Most everyone who ever played with him, counts him as their friend. Has nice technique when blocking on run plays. Keeps his leverage and finishes his blocks. Something that scouts highight is how well he pass blocks. You do not pick him this high if he could not protect the QB. Pretty bright kid. With this kid, this is a need pick they will not regret.
Pick 3: Cincinnati Bengals Larry Moore: Matthew Muse - LB Known among his teammates as a hard worker. His good natured behavior, even toward opponents have earned him some criticism, but also an awful lot of respect. Well liked in the locker room. Wraps up tackles well. Definitely good strength for a Defensive End. Will shed blocks and occasionally bull rush smaller opponents. You need to stay on him, or he will turn the edge on you. Teams want Defensive Ends that keep Offensive Tackles honest. He fills a need for them. Great pick here.
Jim Nox: Scott Wheeler - CB Not afraid to lead. Raised to know the value of teamwork. I mean come on! Did you see how fast he is? Fits nicely with their needs. Fits nicely with the draft spot. Getting it right is important with these early picks. This guy is right.

Will make a good amount of money beating the veterans in track races after training. This guy is available. This guy fills a need. They have to take him. It makes so much sense.
Jim Nox: Howard Ivey - LB This kid is not afraid to work hard. He is fundamentally a good kid. You rarely see him commit stupid penalties. Solid tackler. Strong enough to come of the edge in the pros. Will never become a speed rush specialist, but has sufficient speed to become a prototype Defensive End. He can do what they want. Sportsmanship, love of the sport and respect, is what you get with him. He does not get fooled by coverages often. Makes nice throws. Nice arm, will be even better in a couple of seasons. They almost have to make this pick. You do not want to look back in five years and see this kid on another team knowing he could have been yours.
Jim Nox: Marvin Herman - QB This kid is not afraid to work hard. Respected for his good behavior on the field. Here you have a guy, who really benefits the atmosphere in the building. Everyone wants to be around him. He makes great decisions. Deep out? No problem! Backshoulder fade? No problem! There is not a throw in the book this kid does not master. What you get with this kid is an elite arm. They will be running to the podium for this one.
Pick 7: New Orleans Saints Larry Moore: Merle Booker - QB This guy understands what it means to be a pro. This is the kind of kid you want to promote the game. Well behaved, loves the game, and respectful. His love for winning leads him to push himself hard, setting an example for everyone. Should be able to take in a pro playbook. Already making good throws, and that is even with no seasons of pro training. He can do what they want. He will deliver results early. He fits a need. End of story.
Jim Nox: Jamaal Leavitt - LB Coaches love the leadership skills in this kid. Raised to know the value of hard work. 'Team player', this is the correct term for him. He makes everyone around him better. No point in getting to the ball carrier if you cannot take him down. This kid tackles well. That is something teams are looking at. While not elite, his speed is good enough to deliver pressure and keep contain. Good instincts. Solid talent that fits their needs. Really that is all there is to it. Perfect situation. Take the money and run.
Pick 8: Minnesota Vikings Larry Moore: Howard Ivey - LB This kid is not afraid to work hard. He is driven by the love of the sport. Finishes tackles. Fans will come around quickly once they see him play.
Jim Nox: Dennis Larsen - WR Due to his work ethic, this kid is very coachable. Loyal to the bone. You give him a chance and he will never abandon you. Pick up the kid, bring him into the building, put him om the field.
Jim Nox: Aaron Freeman - T Knows what it takes to achieve success at any level. He never gives up on his coaches and teammates. He keeps fighting for them even when others give up. He helps everyone get in the right position, making the team run as a well oiled machine. I like the way he tackles. Wraps up the ball carrier and drags him down. No need to take chances. Will not have to come off the field for in obvious passing situations. Has enough quickness to pressure Quarterbacks off the edge. Well schooled in the game, and it shows on the field. He fills a hole at the position. Blue-chip player. Will fit right in and start right away. Love it.

Coaching Carousel Predictions. The offseason is upon us and that means teams are shaking up their coaching staffs. This means that we get to take our annual look at coordinators who could make the leap to become head coaches, and the teams who are likely to poach them.
The prime candidates identified by our experts are: John Caudill - Defensive Coordinator - Oakland Raiders Rusty Adams - Offensive Coordinator - Carolina Panthers Mark Beltran - Offensive Coordinator - New England Patriots Royce Sweeney - Defensive Coordinator - Washington Commanders Neil Bible - Offensive Coordinator - Miami Dolphins David Lattimore - Offensive Coordinator - San Francisco 49ers Jerold Adams - Offensive Coordinator - Denver Broncos Garfield Florence - Defensive Coordinator - Denver Broncos
As always, we are prone to wild speculations, so we asked our in-house experts to do a little matchmaking between candidates and teams. Here is what they came up with:
Mary Moore: Garfield Florence leaves the Broncos to become the head coach for the New Orleans Saints.
Darren Francis: I think the Commanders lose Royce Sweeney and I see him heading to New Orleans Saints.
Jim Nox: The Raiders cannot hold on to John Caudill. I would like to see him coach the Cincinnati Bengals.
Jeremy Piper: Garfield Florence is certainly on the move. That means Broncos will need a new coordinator. As for where Florence ends up? Well, I think Chicago Bears is a good bet.Contract UpdatesThe following players have unlocked bonuses in their contracts based on their performance last season: Stanton Warren - SS (Green Bay Packers) unlocked a 15% bonus for Tackles (Target: 80 / Accomplished: 90).
